TAKE A LOOK: The outdoor classroom and monastery grounds
Being outside, connecting with nature, and interacting with our environment are essential. Study after study connects improved mental health in children with access and proximity to green space and outdoor activity. The grounds of the Monastery present wonderful opportunities for our teachers to incorporate nature, outdoor experiences, and learning into the daily curriculum and experiences of our students.
Building upon the structures and soothing environment created by the Sisters, the peaceful grounds of the property will evolve to incorporate a naturescape play area for our elementary and middle school students, as well as a walking labyrinth for use by our students and staff as they contemplate difficult academic challenges or personal decisions. The Monastery’s almost 5 acres of grounds will play an important role in our curriculum and the active learning festival life of our school for both our students and their families.
